How it works
What is bike share?
Bike share is a service that makes public bicycles available for shared use to individuals on a short-term basis. The bikes can be unlocked from one station and returned to any station in the system, making bike share ideal for short, one-way trips.
Why bike share?
Use bike share to commute, run errands, visit friends, or casually cruise the city. Bike share is ideal for one-way trips and you’ll never have to worry about bike theft again!

- Create an account and select your desired plan
- Accept the Terms and Conditions of use
- Enter your credit card information
- Once you have successfully registered you will receive a User Code (7 digits) via email, which you will need to access bikes. (This code will always be displayed in your profile when you are logged into the website or mobile app.)

Unlock a bike
If you have a User Code:
- Follow the screen prompts
- Enter your 7-digit User Code and press Enter
- Enter your 4-digit PIN code, and press Enter
- At the BEEP, remove your bike and enjoy your ride!
If you have a User Card or an RFID card:
- Follow the screen prompts
- Scan your RFID card
- Enter your 4-digit PIN and press Enter
- At the BEEP, remove your bike and enjoy your ride!
Remember: A trip starts when you unlock a bike from a dock and ends when you properly return it to any available dock. By pressing Enter, you can wake up the screen at any time during your trip to see how long your ride has been.
Accessing the helmet: The Mobi by Shaw Go helmet is attached to the retractable cable lock on the bike. When unlocking the bike, the cable lock will disengage, allowing you to access the helmet.
Tip: When the bike is unlocking from the dock, hold the helmet to avoid it from dropping as it gets released. After the bike is unlocked and you have taken the helmet out of the cable lock, push the cable lock inside the handlebar.
You can return your bike at any station with an available dock.
Follow these steps:
- Insert the front tire of bike into any available dock
- Wait for the “BEEP” to make sure the bike is properly returned and rental is ended
- Pull the integrated cable lock from the handlebar
- Feed the cable lock through the top of the helmet
- Firmly insert the cable to the slot above the tire to lock it
- To successfully complete your ride make sure you see or hear a locking notification on the bike. If you do not receive a notification, press the green ENTER button on the keypad and re-insert it into the dock.

If you need to make a short stop during your trip but away from a station, you can use the integrated cable lock to secure the bike.
Follow these steps:
- Press “Enter” to wake up the screen
- Scan your RFID card or enter your PIN when prompted
- The steering will lock and you can then access the cable lock to secure the bike
- Push the button located on the left side of the handlebar to release the cable and pull the cable lock from the right side of the handlebar
- Position the bike next to a secure location (such as a bike rack)
- Insert the cable lock into the small tube located above the tire to lock it
Remember: Your trip timer is still running when the bike is out of a station, so finding an available docking station is always recommended over a stopover.
To unlock the bike after a stop:
- Press “Enter” to wake up the screen
- Scan your RFID card or enter your User Code and wait for the bike to unlock
- Release the cable and push it back in the handlebar
