Founding Members Portrait Series (9 of 10)

Portrait #9: Ken Ohrn

We’re pleased to introduce Ken. Learn why he is excited to start riding Mobi!

Why are you a founding member of Mobi?

I'm a firm believer in bike-share as another quality choice available to you when you want to travel somewhere in the city. I've been following bike-share since 2010, reporting here and there on other systems like New York and London and waiting for Vancouver's system to arrive. I've joined up as a founding member so that I can get in early on things, and show my support in a tangible way. I want Mobi to succeed, like most other systems do.

Why do you love to ride?

Riding a bike is a simple and easy way to get around. It's also fun. I just feel happy when I set out on my bike for somewhere, when I'm enroute, and when I get there. And the ride home too.

Where are you going to go on your first ride?

I'm doing a photo series on public art. So I plan to ride to somewhere in the Downtown area, drop the Mobi, walk around looking for stuff to photograph. Get another bike when I bump into a Mobi station, ride somewhere else -- and so on. This could be the better part of a day for me.
