This year we brought on a mighty team of Mobi by Shaw Go Brand Ambassadors to spread the word about the benefits of bike share. Not only are they knowledgeable about our bike share program, our Brand Ambassadors bring energy, enthusiasm and a genuine love for cycling to the bike share community. This month we’re putting the spotlight on Sarah, Cora and Jake. Read on to learn more about our ambassadors.
Meet Sarah! (She/Her)
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Hey! I'm Sarah and I have an interest-based nervous system which means my life is like a video game character leveled by someone who just slammed their fist on a keyboard and called it a day. I have two cats, enjoy exploring Vancouver on two wheels or from behind my camera (especially at local hip-hop shows) and have a minor obsession with tea and vintage tea paraphernalia. I'm also a journalist sometimes.
How would you describe Mobi by Shaw Go in three words?
What do you enjoy most about being a Brand Ambassador for Mobi by Shaw Go?
I love meeting all kinds of interesting and diverse people that come through our beautiful city and hearing a little bit of their journey. Bikes are so much more than a utilitarian vehicle; they bring people together in really unexpected ways and the best part of Brand Ambassadorship is being there to facilitate that.
What are some common questions you get as a Brand Ambassador and what are your answers to those questions?
I’m actually a full-time member of our Customer Service team moonlighting as a Brand Ambassador, so the most common questions I get asked in the field are similar to what I'm asked on the phone! Here's three of the most common ones:
Q: How do I sign up?
A: Downloading the Mobi app is the easiest way. Make sure you have a credit card and a plan selected on your account before you ride!
Q: I want to ride for (a specific amount of time), how much will it cost and what plan should I use?
A: The Mobi app has all the pricing and plan details under the "pricing" tab.
Q: How do I end my ride?
A: At any Mobi station. There's over 250 of them in Vancouver, and a handy map of our network on the Mobi app. Just push the bike into a dock and make sure you wait for the "Return OK" message.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our members?
When the modern bicycle hit the scene in the 1890s, it revolutionized transportation — but often overlooked is how much it specifically liberated women and has continued to do so for over a century.
If you ask me, there is not one issue facing our society today that would not dramatically improve by prioritizing cycling and safer cycling infrastructure. Being a part of a bike sharing company led by women, whether you're on the team with me or someone who rides a few times a year, know that you've contributed to something transformative.

Tell us a little bit about yourself!
My name is Cora and I’m a Brand Ambassador! This is my second summer as a Brand Ambassador and I’m so happy that I’ve gotten to work with Mobi by Shaw Go for two summers! I was born and raised in Vancouver and I still love to explore the city, and biking is my favourite way to do that.
My favourite activities in the summer in Vancouver are: going on bike rides, going on hikes/walks, going to the beach, and overall just being outside. I’m currently a student throughout the fall and winter, so I feel so lucky to be spending my spring and summer outside working for Mobi!

What do you enjoy most about being a Brand Ambassador for Mobi by Shaw Go?
My favourite thing about being a Brand Ambassador is connecting with people and being outdoors! I get to connect with so many different people while being a Brand Ambassador and being able to do that while outside in the summer in Vancouver is pretty amazing.
What are some common questions you get as a Brand Ambassador and what are your answers to those questions?
Other than questions about our program, I get a lot of questions about where to go and things to do in Vancouver. My answer is usually to bike around the sea wall to explore the city!
