Vancouver comes to life this April with an array of spring-themed activities. This month check out cherry blossoms, operas, and more!
 

1. International Pillow Fight Day

Join Vancouver’s biggest pillow fight. Each year, cities around the world celebrate International Pillow Fight Day on the first saturday of April. Organized by Flash Mob Vancouver, the event attracts hundreds of people each year.
In 2018 the Vancouver Pillow Fight takes place in the south plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery at 3pm on April 7.

2. Elements Film Festival

Enjoy dozens of films from across the globe. The Elements Film Festival includes both short and feature-length films, as well as discussions between experts, filmmakers, and accomplished scientists. Hosted at the TELUS World of Science, you can also participate in family activities, see exhibits, and take advantage of special festival promotions!

Celebrate spring by attending one of the many events throughout the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival (VCBF) from April 3-29!
On April 3, you can enjoy the sounds of 400 voices at the Vancouver Sings One Song event held at Christ Church Cathedral. There is also a Cherry Jam Downtown free concert featuring local talent at Burrard Skytrain Station on April 5. For your fix of Japanese art and culture, check out Sakura Days Japan Fair at VanDusen Botanical Gardens on April 14 & 15. Mobi by Shaw Go is also hosting a free Cherry Blossom Bike Ride on April 7 to celebrate the festival!For more Cherry Blossom Festival events, visit vcbf.ca/.

4. Earth Day Parade

Join hundreds of people marching down Commercial Drive with placards, costumes, and musical instruments to celebrate Earth Day.
The parade will begin at the corner of Commercial Drive and the Grandview Highway at about 12:30 pm. At 1 pm, people will start to march north along Commercial Drive toward Grandview Park.

5. Vancouver Opera Festival

Returning for its second year, the Vancouver Opera Festival celebrates Russian composers with a Russian classic opera. Among the highlights are a much anticipated opera premiere, a series of instrumental and vocal chamber music concerts, and much more.
