Mobi Member Profile: Meet Steph

Meet Steph,

She is originally from Ontario, but relocated to the west coast 14 years ago and has not looked back. Steph is the co-founder of a Human Capital Consulting business called The Corker Co. When she is not working on her business, she spends every other possible hour of the day training ferociously as a professional triathlete chasing Ironman start lines. Steph says "one certainly pays better than the other, but dreams are a priceless pursuit in my opinion".

We asked Steph a few questions about her experience with Mobi by Shaw Go. Here’s what she said:

1) When was the last time you rode a bike?

As a triathlete, I have been blessed with a bike sponsor who has provided me two speedy wheels. The challenge is that my training bike is not easy to commute around town with. When I'm not training with my own bike, I ride am riding a Mobi to the pool, office, or grocery store.

2) How do you integrate Mobi into your daily routine?

How do I not? I do not go anywhere without my Mobi! I've fit more into that basket or on my back than I thought was possible. Getting anywhere in Vancouver on a Mobi is infinitely more exciting than driving a car!

3) Where is your favourite place to Mobi to and Why?

Most definitely Kits pool. The hours of my life I've wasted driving around Kits in circles looking for parking is ridiculous. I'm so grateful to pull up to the parking lot, dock my bike, and swim my heart out!

4) What is your favorite part of Mobi by Shaw Go?

My sweet husband signed up the day after I did and now we get to Mobi around town together. It is so much fun to take a long scenic bike ride, explore our own city, ring our bells, and say hello to fellow Mobi riders! None of those things are possible when you are locked in a car and sitting in traffic on the Burrard St. Bridge.

5) Do you have any Mobi by Shaw Go tips or tricks?

I have ridden in the rain and in a sundress; I've discovered a new bagel shop and carried 24 bagels home; I've never once arrived at a station without a bike or without room to dock my bike. Truly the simplest and most honest tip is to get on a bike!

6) Words of encouragement for new users?

I dare you to find a more fun way to get around Vancouver! I double dare you to never ride a bike without a helmet, because that is totally not cool. Also, when riding alongside or in the opposite direction of a fellow Mobi rider, hold your hand in the Hawaiian shaka position and squeal "Mobi"! Everyone will smile because of it!
