Bike Share Launching at UBC

The same team that brought you Mobi by Shaw Go is launching a new bike share program, HOPR, at the University of British Columbia (UBC)!
In partnership with UBC, HOPR has signed a 3-year operational contract to offer bike share services on campus. HOPR will be deploying bikes this summer, with as many as 200 bikes available by September 2019. Having a bike share program at UBC will give students, faculty, staff, residents, and visitors a convenient and sustainable way to get around campus.
About HOPR
HOPR is a bike share program that is owned by CycleHop - the same company behind Vancouver’s public bike share program, Mobi by Shaw Go. CycleHop operates dozens of bike share programs in cities and universities across North America, providing millions of people with sustainable transportation options.
Technology & System Area
HOPR bikes will be available throughout the UBC campus. Rides must be started and ended within the HOPR System Area. The bikes should not be ridden into the City of Vancouver or charges may apply.
The bikes are built with GPS-enabled dockless technology and will be accessed using the HOPR Transit App (available on Android and iOS). Although the bikes use dockless technology, riders will be encouraged to park within HOPR Ponds (designated parking hubs). Bikes parked out-of-hub will incur a $2 fee. A $1 credit will also be provided for riders who return out-of-hub bikes back to a HOPR Pond. This system ensures that bikes are easy to find and organized on campus.
Pricing Plans
HOPR offers pricing plans for single trips, as well as for 30 Day and 365 Day passes. Those with a valid UBC email address or postal code are eligible to receive a discounted price on some plans. For full plan details and pricing, visit gohopr.com/ubcStart Riding
The HOPR Transit App allows users to sign up for a pass, locate and reserve bikes, and start or end trips. To start hoppin’, download the HOPR Transit App on Android or iOS!
